normalize breastfeeding

In de wereldwijde Borstvoedingsweek doen vrouwen op Instagram ook een flinke duit in het zakje door foto’s te posten onder de hashtag: normalize breastfeeding. Ik verzamelde speciaal voor jou de allermooiste foto’s.

August is National Breastfeeding Awareness Month and this week is World Breastfeeding Week. Rio is 11 months and we are still going strong. I always knew I wanted to breastfeed, but never knew just how incredible it would be. We know nutritional values of breastmilk are the best thing for babies physically, but the benefits go far beyond that. The act of breastfeeding itself is so beneficial to both mama and baby: the comfort, the oxytocin, the bond. When your baby looks up at you and says ’thank you’ with his little eyes, it truly melts your heart. These feelings are completely unique and like nothing else in the world. I’m so glad my husband captured this candid moment. I will cherish this photo and be forever grateful that I have been able to experience breastfeeding. ❤️❤️❤️ #worldbreastfeedingweek #nationalbreastfeedingmonth #normalizebreastfeeding #breastfeeding #motherhood #breastfeedingmoms #breastmilk #babies #11months #breastisbest #healthymom #healthybaby #healthbenefits #oxytocin #bonding

✨BREASTFEEDING SUBMISSIONS✨My whole life my breasts felt like they were too big. I felt uncomfortable and sometimes red hot with embarrassment just walking down the street. I used to feel as if my body wasn’t mine; like it was an external visual display of sex and trauma. When I had Nora, I felt like a goddess. We took my body back to Gaia. My breasts and my milk are my gifts from nature and my birthright to share with my babies – anyone’s babies who needs them, actually. Breastfeeding reconnected me with the ancestral flow of the divine feminine within and for that I am so grateful! It was painful at first but with the help of some amazing midwives and a nipple shield – we got the hang of it pretty quick. We’re going on 13 months now and no signs of quitting anytime soon! Much reiki love to all the goddess! in honor of #worldbreastfeedingweek, I thought I’d share one of our #sakurabloomslingdiary photos from last November. 💖 sometimes I really miss those sweet and tender moments, but I’m so thankful for the special bond that we’ve gained from our two and a half years of nursing shared 💖 definitely looking forward to having an entirely new and unique experience with our precious newborn, once she makes her way into this world. ☺ ️ 📷: @tophography_ #normalizebreastfeeding #sakurabloombreastfeeding #sakurabloomshabd #tiffslingdiary

You were my first nursling and gave me the confidence as a mother… you led the way in this beautiful path and made me feel strong and empowered! When we nursed in public we were a team, along with daddy’s protectiveness we never let anyone make us feel ashamed or embarrassed! I loved nourishing your body and soul my sweet child!! This was the last time we #nursedinpublic and I cherish it dearly!

Breastfeeding hasn’t been as easy as it seems… Even now at almost 2 years I still struggle with it. Baby Q shows no sign of weaning yet and that is fine w me. The remarks and comments of others don’t bug me, my baby is getting the best from and of me! I love the bond it has created for us, I know there’s nothing that comforts him better than mama oh and his titi. This is one of my favorite breastfeeding photos. It was taken last summer at the lake during our family camping trip. Theo was barely one then and we ended our nursing journey when he was a month or two shy of turning two because I wasn’t up to pregnancy and nursing a growing boy. Until pregnancy I loved breast feeding him. It was the answer to all of his woes and now we are navigating the world together learning new ways to console and soothe. Although I miss these moments, the hugs and cuddles I get now are everything. #WorldBreastfeedingWeek Een foto die is geplaatst door Amanda Rickenbach (@coldcupoftea) op 3 Aug 2015 om 8:31 PDT

Happy national breastfeeding week #breastisbest #breastfeeding #normalizebreastfeeding took this pic in a dressing room out of convenience not out of feeling I NEED to nurse in private

Day 3 of #worldbreastfeedingweek. The theme of this year is #Breastfeeding and Work. This is a snapshot of a typical work day morning for us: messy room, wet hair, running late, trying to get my coffee in all while Ruth distractedly nurses and plays with my hair. #workingmom #normalizeit #normalizebreastfeeding #nursing #breastfeeding #postpartum #breastfeedingisbeautiful #breastfeedingart #breastfeedwithoutfear #nationalbreastfeedingmonth #feminist Side note: some of you may think what I’m doing this week is silly, but after reading that @melissajeanbabies account was shut down this week for posting beautiful, tasteful images of mothers breastfeeding, I feel even more strongly about it. I guess Instagram is ok with straight up pornography, but not breastfeeding. Een foto die is geplaatst door Christina Terrell (@pizzakitten_) op 3 Aug 2015 om 5:55 PDT

✨BREASTFEEDING SUBMISSION✨From @neenibean Me & my gal. Still going strong on our breastfeeding journey at almost 15 months. Now the daily feeds are fewer…but they remain a beautiful and important time of connection in our relationship. #worldbreastfeedingweek #normalizebreastfeeding #carriagehousebirth #breastfeeding
